ADAI

ADAI:-

INGREDIENTS:-IDLI RICE - HALF CUP, RAW RICE - HALF CUP, ORID DHAL - ONE HANDFUL, THOOR DHAL, CHANNA DHAL - HALF CUP EACH, MOONG DHAL - QUARTER CUP, RED CHILLIES- 6 NOS, SOMPH - 1 TSP, JEERA - HALF TSP, ASAFOETIDA - 1 INCH PIECE, GRATED COCONUT - 2 TBLSPN, CORRIANDER LEAVES- 2 TSP CHOPPED, BIG ONION - 1 NO CHOPPED, TURMERIC PWDR - 1 PINCH, SALT - ONE TSP, OIL - NEEDED.

METHOD:- WASH AND SOAK RICE AND DHALS SEPERATELY FOR 2 HOURS. PUT THE RICE IN A GRINDER ALONG WITH CHILLIES, SOMPH, JEERA, SALT. ADD THE DHALS AFTER 5 MINUTES. GRIND COARSLY AND TAKE IT IN A VESSEL.ADD THE GRATED COCONUT, CHOPPED ONION, CORRIANDER,. ADD SALT AND TURMERIC PWDR TOO. MIX WELL AND KEEP ASIDE FOR 10 MINUTES. HEAT DOSA PAN AND SPREAD THE BATTER LIKE OOTHAPPAM. SPRAY OIL AROUN THE ADAI. FLIP IT AFTER 2 MINUTES. COOK TILL CRISPY AND SERVE HOT WITH CHUTNEYS. VARAMILAGAI THUVAIYAL OR AVIAL IS BEST FOR THIS. YOU CAN HAVE THIS WITH BUTTER AND JAGGERY.
